Christmas Food Baskets Every year we raise money to buy, pack, and distribute food baskets at Christmas time to the less-fortunate in our community. In 2012 we donated 225 baskets.
Each basket contains a 5 lb ham, a bag of potatoes, carrots, apples, and onions. Then there is the cans of soup and vegetables, along with oatmeal, a dozen eggs, a loaf of bread, hot chocolate, canned veggies, pancake mix, margarine, mac and cheese, jello, and of course candy canes.
It’s enough to feed a family of four for 2-3 days. In addition, our fund raising affords us to be able to host a Christmas Day Dinner to those the receive the baskets, are lonely, or in need.
There are Many Ways to Give:
- $25 donations to sponsor a basket (the bartender on duty can take your donations)
- Donations to the jars on the bar
- Buy raffle tickets to win one of many great baskets
- Volunteer your time for packing, distributing, or working on Christmas day serving dinner to those in need.
